2009 Solar Power International

I took some time while down in Anaheim to stop by the Solar Power International convention. This is the largest solar conference in North America. This year there were over 24,000 people in attendance and over 930 exhibitors.

We had the chance to stop by and talk with a number of great people, including Aide Solar, Albiasa Solar, and even representatives for the City of Tracy. I spent three days walking around, talking with people, seeing what new technologies people are coming out with and stopping at all the booths with coffee. I was even able to take a few photos of the event.

Bamboo Clothing

A Short while back I was attending an event in the middle of the day in Tracy, where temperatures often find their way to the 90’s even at this time of the year. Needless to say, I wasn’t looking forward to wearing a long sleeve dress shirt to this event. But I remember that Paul from Tracy Embroidery hooked it up with a nice long sleeve dress shirt made out of bamboo. Bamboo clothing is naturally moisture wicking, UV protecting and eco friendly. I heard about all these great things about bamboo clothing, but really had my doubts. I mean I am in Tracy, it was right in the middle of the day and hot outside.

I get dressed, put the shirt on, run out the door and drive down town. The first thing I notice is this shirt is incredibly soft and did not feel like I was wearing a long sleeve shirt. I spent the next four hours at the event and running around town and was really enjoying the shirt. Its weird to say but I was really impressed. It kept me cool.

The group got together for the first ever Green Seed Project photo shoot extravaganza! The Americana in Glendale, CA was gracious enough to afford us public access and was a beautiful backdrop for our shots.  We were even supplied a free security guard, who followed us from shot to shot making sure we weren’t damaging the grass or about to make a run for the 12 and under monkey bars.  Overall we had an amazing time walking, talking, sipping, dancing, laughing, and modeling (to the best of our abilities) and we’re excited to get this project moving!

Some of the photos went up on the website and the rest on our Facebook group which can be accessed at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Green-Seed-Project/ (become our fan!).  We’ll keep you posted on our next move!
